Wondering if you are hypnotizable?

You are hypnotizable, and the simple fact is, you have probably been in trances many times already today.

• Have you ever been watching T.V. and spaced out, or day dream?

• Have you ever been reading and had to re-read a whole paragraph or more because your mind was somewhere else?

• Have you ever been driving home from work, and all of a sudden you are home, and you thought to yourself "Where did all the driving time go?"

• These are all states of trance; in fact the last one is so common that the DMV has coined the term "highway hypnosis."

These are all states of hypnosis called environmental hypnosis.

Most hypnotherapists have a hard time hypnotizing people, because they are working with outdated techniques, or they had incomplete training. Most hypnotherapists are only successful in hypnotizing about 50% percent of the population. This is why the tell people they are resistant, or unhypnotizable, but they are wrong.

Stage hypnotists look for one certain type of suggestible person, which only consists of 20% of the population. This is why they send people back into the audience.

Basically there are three types of suggestibility, physical, emotional, and intellectual. Direct suggestions (what most hypnotherapists' only use) work for physical people, metaphors work with the emotional, and an overload induction is needed for the intellectual  (to keep their intellectual mind distracted).

People also have different lead senses. Some people can visualize, some can imagine smells, some sounds, some can imagine touching something, and some people have the lead sense of taste.

There are a myriad of combinations within these suggestibility types, and lead senses. To really be able to help, and hypnotize everyone, it is extremely important to have the proper training, and be able to recognize what is prominent in whom.

These things can also change with time, so  a person who is a physical suggestible with a lead since of smell today, the same person could become and emotional with the lead since of sight within a month or a year.
