Handwriting Analysis

Handwriting Analysis

Why does handwriting analysis work and how does it relate to Hypnotherapy?

Handwriting analysis is also sometimes called graphology. Graphology has been used by many legal professionals, including the Scotland Yard. Even some employers learn how to read peoples handwriting.

Even though, early in life handwriting was a conscious process, most people write subconsciously now. It’s an automatic movement directly connected to the subconscious mind. This is how someone who knows what to look for can easily find personality traits in the writer.

The personality that the analysis finds only portrays the writers’ current state. The most efficient way to analyze handwriting is to study many samples, over a certain time period (a week should be fine). Since a writers handwriting changes, they way the writer feels at any moment also changes.

It is possible to change certain aspects of your personality through changing your handwriting. If you find yourself procrastinating about things, you can cross your “t” differently, and if you feel like you are too emotionally sensitive you can change the way you write your “t” and “d” stems. This has spawned a self-improvement movement called graphotherapy.

Cursive writing reveals more about a person, and generally a person who prints doesn’t want to reveal their personality. Some people say “my cursive writing is bad,” or “writing in cursive is difficult.” Cursive is actually a more fluid form of writing. The difficulty is from learning the print method, then having to relearn the new cursive method, later in life. We would probably be better off, just learning cursive in the first place.

Even if a writer doesn’t write in cursive, graphoanalysis can still find information about the writer. The main body of a written sample represents the writers’ personal attitude. The signature represents their public self image.
